One of the key benefits of a conference like this is new inspiration and networking among other church leaders in our bishop area. And we definitely need new inspiration and networking after a long time of separation and split in the Methodist Church. We need to rekindle the fire, started by the Holy Spirit that originally united the people called Methodists in Finland, Latvia and Lithuania, Ukraine, Norway and Denmark. We need new enthusiasm and clearer understanding of why and how we engage in mission to reach people in the world with the love of God. We need guidance from the source, Jesus Christ, to direct our steps and face today’s burning points regarding climate change, peace and justice, migration, AI and other hot spot issues.

John Wesley once wrote “Catch on fire with enthusiasm and people will come for miles to watch you burn.” This evocative statement captures the essence of passion and the magnetic pull it exerts on others. Let’s draw each other in and meet for four days of holy conferencing, workshops, talks, joy and curiosity about the Triune God who sets our souls on fire.
